Shining A Light on Local Goverment

Natasha Joly Has My Vote; Column 7-1!

I have know the Joly family for a few years, but have come to know Natasha very well over the last few months.  We re-connected when the district announced it would abolish the French program – and from that moment on we have seen Natasha become a strong and vocal advocate for families, educators, our children and our community.

Natasha has attended and spoken at almost every Board meeting this year – asking detail oriented questions from budget to curriculum to DEI and even standing up to Board members and Administrators when they sought to disparage parents.

What many people don’t know about Natasha is the amount of time she has spent attending workshops for prospective Board members, meeting with Administrators to better understand the inner workings of our district and countless hours of research to gain a full understand the problems BHPS faces and coming up with ways to fix them when she is elected to the Board.

First and foremost, Natasha understands that trust has been lost, communication needs improvement and transparency is key to the proper function of any governing body – especially the school Board.

Natasha has the skills, confidence and understanding of our District needs to help get the Board back on track to a more collaborative model involving, engaging and collaborating with all stakeholders.

Natasha will use her professional and managerial skills to bring the focus back to the children and ensure they are given the best education possible.

Natasha will not stand for petty infighting nor will she tolerate even the slightest perception from the Administrator or her fellow Board members that seek to marginalize or belittle stakeholders.

Natasha will work to repair the relationship between the Board, the Administration and our educators. She will work to ensure all of our teachers receive the support and respect they deserve.

Natasha will continue to engage with stakeholders to better understand the needs of our community and not tolerate closed-door, secret meetings knowing full well the work to be done should be a collaborative effort between teachers, parents, community members, Board members and Administrators.

Natasha is a mother first, and has always and will continue to advocate for what is in the best interest of the children and families in Berkeley Heights.

Please join me in electing Natasha Joly to the BH Board of Education, Column 7-1!
