BHCW 03/24/2024 Newsletter
What’s Important to Know About Berkeley Heights This Week….
This week’s newsletter analyzes the 03/18/2024 BOE meeting discussions surrounding the budget and transportation. Concerning the budget, residents will discover that the Administration (specifically the Business Administrator) responded in a manner that can be described as confusing and defensive to questions about more found money. Even more perplexing is the insistence of the Administration and chair of the Policy Committee (Ms. Stanley) in continuing the secrecy surrounding the rubric or data on the hazardous roads policy connected to a vote on Courtesy busing. The public still does not have the criteria it has been asking for – only the policy committee’s word that a rubric exists, even though no one on the Board appears to have seen it.
We move on to the Superintendent search with a clip of Ms. Nardi speaking on behalf of the BHAA on the issue and a position statement from BHCW on the selection of Mr. Nixon as Acting Superintendent.
The newsletter winds down with the District’s response to the mice issue at GL (which a few parents and teachers have contacted us to say is inaccurate), notes on the 03/19/2024 Town Council, and news from around the state.
We end with our notes from the week and the top three articles for February.
