BHCW 04/14/2024 Newsletter
What’s Important to Know About Berkeley Heights This Week….
This week’s newsletter starts with the BHPSNJ BOE Special Meeting slated for tomorrow, tackling areas the public has long expressed concerns about – Lawyers and Zoom Access. The BOE will also be interviewing interim Superintendents.
We move on to the resignation of the township CFO, who stepped down at a critical time for the township and made strong allegations concerning the budget process. We learn that an OPRA request submitted on 04/05 regarding this matter has yet to be researched in preparation for a response to the resident requesting this information.
Families in our community were happy to learn that the District pushed out its first-ever survey on budget priorities. While the instrument has much room for improvement, it contrasts considerably with the budget process in prior years.
Laura covers the meetings on Superintendent search firms and includes the first in a series of articles on the firms that were presented to the Board during the 04/10 meeting. BOE Representative Dipti Khanna becomes the fourth BOE member to publicly raise questions on the Transportation policy that the Board voted down in March.
We end, as always, with news from around the state and notes from the week.
