2024 Municipal Budget
You can see the full report here .
The itemized budget can be reviewed by going to the township offices (there is no need to OPRA or go to court – it’s available for the public!).
The Township Administrator (currently acting as township CFO) reiterated the budget was constructed with keeping in mind the level of service balanced with the anticipated needs of our community. The wastewater treatment facility, road work, and drainage projects were all incorporated into the budget. The proposed budget is $16,273,412, a slight increase from last year ($16,036,103).
Tree Ordinance
There were multiple resolutions on new ordinances, but the Tree Ordinance was the only matter with any public comments. Ultimately, the resolution passed while council members made it clear that measures have been incorporated into the ordinance for homeowners with circumstances that make it unreasonable to comply with the ordinance, offering the opportunity for appeals on a case-by-case basis.
Citizens Hearing
Several community members voiced concern and displeasure with the Board of Education’s recent decision to offer only Mandatory and Subscription bussing.
The Town Council members who spoke on the issue supported the resident’s concerns and were not pleased with the recent decision by the Board. However, the Mayor clarified that the School District designates hazardous routes. See John’s Note on Citizen Hearing for More Information..
