Petition Update
Since launching on Saturday, March 8th, the petition has gathered 286 signatures. Seven signatures were removed due to a lack of verifiable information.
New Information
The Township appears to be deliberately creating widespread disruption, possibly as a tactic to overwhelm and distract the public by pushing multiple significant policy changes at once.
Alongside the ongoing BHFD controversy, the Mayor has now restricted GLHS students’ access to the tennis courts and seemingly leveraged her alliance with the BOE president to fast-track a controversial lease agreement—conveniently placed on the same agenda as the Budget. This maneuver is designed to divide public attention and attendance between two critical meetings while also complicating the District’s budget process.
Just as momentum was building around the BHFD issue, the CMS Lease Agreement and tennis court controversy surfaced, with political operatives rallying attendance at the BOE meeting immediately after the Lease Agreement appeared on the agenda. The timing suggests a coordinated effort to control the narrative and diffuse community opposition.
NJ21st will work to attend both meetings, but we strongly encourage you to prioritize the Town Council Meeting.
This strategy has also hindered petition efforts, with only 16 additional signatures gained in the past day (currently at 286).
Important Dates To Remember
The Next Town Council Meeting Meeting is Next Tuesday -03/18/2025 at 7pm.
Please consider attending IN-PERSON as the Council DOES NOT allow Zoom Participants to make comments remotely- you must be in person to speak.
