What’s Important to Know About Our Local & State Government This Week….
This week was an eventful one for our school district:
- We cover communications from the Mayor, Town Administrator, and Recreation Committee that attempt to pressure the District into handing over its land by threatening service cuts and restricting student access to tennis courts.
- Board of Education Meeting (02/27/2025): The meeting took an unexpected turn with Gale Bradford’s unusual committee selections and an even more concerning approach that required intervention from five BOE members to restore order.
- BOE Referendum Meeting (02/26/2025): We briefly break down the referendum process and highlight the Superintendent’s responses to pressing questions about school closures and the referendum’s impact.
We take at look at the current facts about transportation and how they compare to the extreme predictions pushed by political operatives last year. We analyze how this issue has been leveraged for electoral gain—just as we are seeing with the CMS Lease Agreement this year.
We wind down with a call for Governor Murphy’s conditional veto on a problematic Ballot Bill and a for contributors in other communities.
Finally, we wrap up with our weekly notes and highlight our top three articles from February.
