In what appears to be a further attempt by District leadership to influence public opinion on elected officials, questionable minutes on the teacher’s contract sent out at the speed of light. This is the third time allegedly inaccurate minutes or inaccurate documents were made available to the public on a matter of great interest concerning BOE members who have been highly critical of the District’s leadership. It is also coming at a time when material ethical violations are staring down Ms. Penna’s next term. Dr. Varley is continuing to grapple with a Nepotism Charge that has not gone away despite the District’s best efforts.

Earlier this year, I emailed the BOE asking that the Business Managers’ actions surrounding a similar incident be investigated by the BOE. Afterward, another resident requested the same concerning the Business Manager’s handling of OPRA requests. Both are fundamentally connected to what many residents feel is an improper attempt to influence public opinion and elections.

Our sources have not referenced Ms. Akiri or Dr. Foregger ONCE as a reason the contract is STILL delayed. These were the same sources that informed us of the delays in the teacher’s contract earlier this month.

The timing of the release of the minutes appears to be an attempt to distract away from what is more likely the result of delays caused by the District’s Attorney’s actions and a BOE anchored by MULTIPLE ethics violations.

Statement from BOE Member Sai Akiri on minutes reflecting teachers’ contract discussions being passed around on Social Media.
