What’s Important to Know About Berkeley Heights This Week….
This week’s newsletter features an interview with Mayor Angie Devanny that includes frank discussions with BHCW on the CMS Field, All-Inclusive Play Ground, and the recently passed Land Use Ordinance, among other items.
We were proud to create and publish the first-ever 7-District Dashboard ACFR Budget spreadsheet that provides the public with an easy-to-follow tool to compare BHPSNJ spending on specific areas with six other Districts, including New Providence, Chatham, and Summit. This tool makes an excellent primer for stakeholders in preparing for the 2024 BHPSNJ Budget process.
The newsletter then moves on to the Horse and Pony tandem of the Superintendent and Business Administrator in their spin on the District’s declines and the failure on the part of the District to hold discussions with the BOE and Public on the Audit before its submission to the state. Last week, we informed Berkeley Heights of the District’s missed deadlines concerning the Audit, painting an overall picture of a budget process that is beginning to appear more problematic than the previous two years.
Also included is a letter from John to Gale Bradford as she looks to take on the role of BOE President and notes on the 02/06/2024 Town Council Meeting (which ended up being uneventful- thankfully).
We wind down with important news from around the state; our notes from the week include a BHCW press release through Tap-Into on Dr. Varley’s fairy tale and end with our top three articles for January.
