Shining A Light on Local Goverment

Natasha’s Remarks During Public Comment Portion of 10/12/2023 BOE Meeting

In this clip of the 10/12/2023 meeting, BOE Candidate Natasha Joly tackles a variety of issues in three minutes during the Public Comments section of the meeting:

  1. She challenges the narrative that policy 0164 intends to improve transparency, pointing out that it was likely a response to Dr. Foregger asking the BOE to have Dr. Varley present on the declines and intends to prevent future demands from accountability.
  2. She requested an update on pass rates on the NJGPA presented at a prior meeting. Many community members suspect the improvements the District touted were the result of a lowered standard voted on recently by the NJDOE.
  3. She brings up concerns connected to Building Thinking classroom concerning staff training.
  4. She questioned how the District is STILL unable to provide information in connection to Courtesy Busing.
  5. She questioned how the BOE still needs to approve their own goals.
  6. She questioned how the BOE (after spending thousands of dollars on equipment and changing the location of meetings) is still not allowing Zoom participation.
