BHCW 12/17/2023 Newsletter
What’s Important to Know About Berkeley Heights This Week…
This week’s newsletter starts with a snapshot of raw data on this year’s NJSLA, which became available this week. The results are not great – we are still below where we were before Dr. Varley took over as superintendent.
It then moves to our coverage of the 12/14/2023 BOE meeting, where it becomes apparent that the interim Business Administrator is picking up where the last one left off, which included hiding Board Correspondence from the public and gaslighting questions raised in the previous meeting about an RFP with irrelevant legalese that had nothing to do with the concerns raised. The other interim Business Administrators that were hired after Ms. Kot left appeared to approach the position ethically yet are nowhere to be seen.
Our community discovered that the law firm of Cleary, Giacobbe, Alfieri, and Jacobs ripped more money out of our classrooms and gained insight into their political connections.
BHCW also highlighted strong points from a resident on the recent decision to move forward with the Land Use Ordinance.
The newsletter ends with our weekly State wrap-up and notes from the week.
